Diagnose first
AC Repair
Weak airflow, odd noises, short cycling or a system that runs and never cools. We measure the unit before we recommend anything, and we show you the reading.
What we check before we say what's wrong
Most cooling calls come down to something measurable: a capacitor that has drifted out of tolerance, a refrigerant charge that has fallen away, a contactor that is no longer pulling in cleanly, or an air temperature differential that says the unit is running but not doing work.
What happens on the call
Our technicians put gauges and a clamp meter on the system, walk you through what the numbers mean, lay out the options, and let you decide without pressure. That is the part customers write about in reviews.
S.W.A.T A/C & Heat is rated 4.9 from 530 Google reviews. Texas licence TACLA27829. Call (281) 705-6401.

Four things get measured before any part gets named
- AirflowThe air temperature differential between the return and the supply side of the coil. A healthy system pulls that number down well past what a fan alone would manage. A unit that's running but barely moving the temperature is doing work without cooling anything.
- CapacitorIts value, read with a meter and checked against the rating printed on the case. Capacitors drift with heat and age long before they fail outright, and a weak one shows up as a compressor or fan motor that hesitates instead of starting clean.
- ContactorWhether the contacts are pulling in cleanly or arcing and pitted from thousands of cycles. A contactor that's starting to stick is one of the more common reasons a system runs on and off for no obvious reason.
- RefrigerantThe charge, checked against what the data plate calls for rather than topped off by guess. A system that's low is losing refrigerant somewhere, and adding more without finding the leak just delays the same call.
He walked me through the diagnostic process, showing me how he determined that one AC unit was operating properly while identifying that the other unit had an insufficient air temperature differential.
